The children at St Albert the Great are now rewarded with house points for trying hard in their school work, being kind to each other around the school, showing good manners and for many other reasons. It encourages good behaviour and links in with the new school behaviour policy. House points can be awarded by class teachers, teaching assistants, midday supervisors and even buddies. All of our children are allocated into one of four houses - St Elizabeth, St Francis of Assisi, St Bernadette and St John the Baptist. These house names were chosen by the children. If the children earn 10 house points they are awarded with a bronze award, if they manage 20 house points they receive a silver award and for 30 house points they claim a gold award. Gold award winners also receive a special reward - afternoon tea with Miss Farrell! Each half term, Miss Bryant and her trusty Year 6 helpers, count up all of the house points earned and a winning house is announced and receive the 'House Point Cup'. The current holders of the cup are St Bernadette and their yellow ribbon has been put on the cup. Well done to all of the children who earned house points for thier team. The children meet regularly with their houses and discuss current school issues. Currently, the houses are working on raising money through Lenten activities. St Elizabeth house are holding a 'pyjama day', St Francis of Assisi house will raise money through washing cars, St John the Baptist house will have a cake sale and St Bernadette house are hosting a talent show. Money raised will be split between the school charity - the Catholic Children's Society - and the house itself, promoting the children's economic well being.
